FLER, an iconic Australian furniture company, was founded in 1946 by Fred Lowen and Ernest Rodeck, both Jewish immigrants fleeing Europe during WWII. FLER is celebrated for its modernist designs, heavily influenced by Scandinavian aesthetics, which helped shape mid-century Australian furniture style. The company gained popularity with pieces like the DC1 Swedish Modern Dining Chair and the SC55 armchair. By the 1960s, FLER had established itself as a leader in Australian design, blending craftsmanship with clean, functional lines. Although the company was sold in 1966, its legacy remains strong among collectors and design enthusiasts today
