Don Rex Furniture was made in Brisbane, Australia. The company was founded by Don and Lorraine Rex in the late 1950s and quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality furniture pieces that were both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The couple started out making furniture in their backyard shed, but eventually expanded their business and moved into a larger factory in the Brisbane suburb of Moorooka.
Don Rex Furniture was known for its innovative designs, with a focus on clean lines and modernist aesthetics. The company used a range of materials in its furniture production, including teak, blackwood, and other hardwoods, and often incorporated textured fabrics and bold colors into its designs.
The company continued to grow throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and Don Rex Furniture pieces were sold throughout Australia and exported to other countries as well. Today, the company is remembered as one of Australia’s leading furniture manufacturers of the mid-20th century, and its pieces are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
Condition
The frames have been re-glued and are now solid. The frame has also been refinished with wax oil.
The Fabric has been Cleaned Is in very good condition and looks like it was upholstered recently.
