• Background: Attributed to Thonet, Austria–Germany. Thonet was a pioneer in industrial furniture design, known for its innovative bentwood techniques and elegant forms. This stool reflects the brand’s transition into Art Nouveau styling, combining utility with sculptural grace.
• Condition: Good antique condition. The bentwood frame is solid and stable, with a warm patina and light surface wear. The cane seat is intact. Height-adjustment mechanism operates smoothly. Some previous repairs present.
