Danske Mobler stands as a venerable testament to the legacy of Scandinavian designer furniture in New Zealand, with a history dating back to 1962, when it was established by Kaj and Bente Winther.
Following World War II, New Zealand was fortunate to welcome two Danish immigrants who brought with them a rich furniture-making background. Their arrival was serendipitous, as New Zealand had recently imposed stringent import restrictions, imposing high tariffs on furniture of international origin.
Within just six years of its inception, Danske Mobler had resonated with thousands of style-conscious New Zealanders, each acquiring their own piece of Scandinavian design excellence. The success of Danske Mobler was resounding, prompting the company to expand its operations into manufacturing and global sales.
Throughout the 1960s and 70s, this esteemed furniture emporium catered to a wide spectrum of household furnishing needs, encompassing living room, dining, bedroom, and outdoor selections. Its offerings included both in-house creations inspired by Scandinavian classics and locally crafted brands such as DON and Jon Jansen.
To this day, Danske Mobler thrives as a prominent presence across New Zealand, now managed by successive generations of the Winter family.

Dresser has been cleaned and polished and is in Very Good Condition, with a couple of small Veneer repairs on the one side ( See Pic) .
