Background Information
Frank Gehry is a celebrated architect known for his innovative and sculptural designs that challenge traditional architectural norms, with iconic works like the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. His collaboration with Heller, a furniture manufacturer, produced striking pieces that blend artistic expression with functionality. The Gehry Easy Chair, crafted from molded polyethylene, exemplifies this partnership by combining Gehry’s signature style with practical usability, making high art accessible in everyday settings.
Condition
Sadly, these chairs were painted white by the previous owner. I’ve stripped the paint; however, it came off unevenly in places, resulting in some areas of the plastic being faded where the paint had peeled off. Over time, if left outdoors longer, the fading may even out now that the paint is gone. The chairs are solid, but they have many bumps and scratches, which is reflected in the price.
