Established in 1975 alongside B&B Italia, Maxalto swiftly carved out a distinctive niche in the realm of artisan furniture production. The brand’s unwavering commitment to the pinnacle of quality, both in terms of materials and craftsmanship, reflects its inherent pursuit of excellence, encapsulated in the very essence of its name. Derived from the Venetian dialect, “massa alto” translates to “the highest.”

Maxalto’s exploration of form draws inspiration from the past, undertaking a reimagining of classical styles. Pioneering this endeavor were Afra and Tobia Scarpa, who crafted a series of wooden furniture pieces using rare, age-old production techniques reminiscent of cabinet and lute making. The result was nothing short of extraordinary, with a sculptural impact evident in iconic creations such as the Africa chair (Artona collection) and the New Harmony collection.

Condition:

In very good condition, this sofa exhibits very minor signs of use, hardly noteworthy and in no way diminishing its overall appeal. Leather has been cleaned and conditioned.
