Description
This graceful antique chaise lounge has undergone a substantial restoration by its previous owner. It’s been professionally reupholstered in a soft beige floral fabric and structurally rebuilt with new webbing and springing beneath the surface—a major job that ensures comfort, longevity, and renewed integrity.
The rolled arm and gently curved back evoke Edwardian revival styling, while the original timber legs are fitted with stamped brass Bassick castors—an American-made hybrid design from the mid-20th century, combining brass housings with durable plastic wheels. These castors offer both mobility and a subtle provenance cue, reflecting transitional furniture engineering from the 1950s–70s. Likely dating from the 1940s–60s, the chaise may have originated in Europe before finding its place in an Australian home. Whether styled in a heritage interior, boutique setting, or modern contrast space, this chaise invites relaxation and conversation.
